What is the admissions process?

What services do you provide?
Exodus Homes provides transitional housing, along with vocational training, peer support, case management, and recovery services. Residents participate in various activities, to include, group meetings, NA and Celebrate Recovery, Sober Social events, and other activities. These activities are designed to help residents learn a new way to live and participate in society without the use of drugs and alcohol.
Do you provide transportation?
Exodus Homes has a team of drivers, along with a variety of vehicles from cars to passenger vans. Residents are transported to and from appointments at no charge. Exodus vehicles are not available for personal use.
How is Exodus different from other services?
Exodus Homes provides a holistic approach to recovery. We believe that there are many pathways to recovery, and we are supportive of those pathways. Although we are faith-based, we are not a religious program. We do recommend religious activities, and the majority of our residents attend church at Exodus Missionary United Church of Christ.
Will you help me find a job?
Once a resident is admitted into the program, they will meet with our job coach for placement in the Exodus Works vocational training program. Residents can be placed in the in-house enterprises or with a corporate partner. If a resident is placed with a corporate partner, they will work as a temp through Exodus Works for 90 to 180 days. During this time, residents do not pay program fees to live at Exodus Homes. They are also transported to and from work at no cost. Once they complete the probationary period, the corporate partner will be given the option to hire the resident on as their employee. Placement will be determined based on availability.
Do you offer counseling services?
Exodus Homes is a peer led program. We offer onsite peer support. Counseling services are referred to Catawba Valley Healthcare and The Cognitive Connection. Residents are also able to participate in outpatient treatment at The Cognitive Connection if they choose to.
How long is the program?
There is no time frame as far as how long residents can stay at Exodus Homes. We recognize a successful completion of the program after one year if the resident leaves with a notice and has accomplished the goals set during orientation. The program can transition from transitional housing to permanent supportive housing, if that is the best option for the resident.
Do you accept sex offenders?
We do not accept sex offenders.
Do you provide family housing?
We do not provide family housing. We, also, do not house couples. Feel free to contact the office for additional resources if you’re looking for family housing.
What medications are not allowed?
Prescription narcotics are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, benzodiazepines, opiates, Suboxone, Methadone and other narcotics. Medications are evaluated along with the application of a case by case basis. If a resident is prescribed medication after admission, the medication will need to be approved by staff before the medication is picked up from the pharmacy. Exodus Homes does not provide medication assistance. All residents must be able to self administer medications.
Do you take disabled?
Applicants with disabilities are evaluated case by case. Applicants who are on Disability for mental health conditions do not meet criteria for the program. Approved applicants with Disability will be required to pay the first month’s program fees before admission into the program.
